Sr Norizan Binti Sulaiman became the Deputy Director of Building Control Department
of Kuala Lumpur City Hall since June 2015. She was also the Deputy Chairman
of Social Welfare Department. She was a member of RISM since 2005. She was
appointed to become a counsellor of AKRAB City Hall of Kuala Lumpur.
Sr Norizan Binti Sulaiman holds a degree in Building Surveying from Universiti
Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam and Masters in Project Management from Leeds
Metropolitan University, UK. She started her career at the Architecture Section, Ministry
of Housing and Local Government for seven years as an Assistant Architect. She
was later promoted to Senior Assistant Architect in Housing Department, Ministry of
Housing and Local Government (MHLG). In 2002, she was transferred to Department
of Building, City Hall of Kuala Lumpur as a Building Surveyor and was promoted in June
2015 to Deputy Director of Building Control Department. In 2014, she received the Best
Service Award, which is the 3rd awarded after her services in MHLG.

Q.How long have you been a Building
Surveyor in Malaysia?
A. I have served as Building Surveyor since 2005.
Q.What is your current role and scope of
responsibilities?
A. Currently, I am a Deputy Director reporting to
Director of Building Control Department dealing
with Building Plan Approvals, Project Monitoring
and Enforcement with total employees of 150
people, in areas of Building, Architecture and Civil
Engineering. I am also a member of One Stop Centre
for Building Approval, Permit and Enforcement on
