The QS Race 2016 – Race It So aMazingly was successfully hosted by Junior Organization, QS Division on Saturday 9 April 2016. Led by Sr Fadilah Mohamad Camaludin, this race the 5 th of its kind attracted 25 teams from 14 Universities. This is the most number of participants since it started way back in 2007.
Each team comprised of 3 students accompanied by a lecturer from different University to race against time from one Task Performing Station (TPS) to the other completing QS related assignment given by the QS Master. Teams were flagged off from RISM and travelled via LRT to their next TPS. Thanks to Prasarana Malaysia Berhad who sponsored 100 LRT passes to each of the participant.
This year the participants were tested on Computation of Professional Fees, Pricing of Bills of Quantities, Preliminary Cost Estimate, Interim Payments and Project Viability.
The participants were not only challenged on their application of knowledge in real life project but the questions were prepared to integrate problem solving, leadership and team work.
Congratulation to team Beat Bang from Tunku Abdul Rahman University who became the Champion. 1 st runner up went to team Imperia Macho Awaken from Imperia Institute of Technology while 2 nd runner up was team Kingsman from Taylors University.
Winners got RM3,000.00 in cash, RM2,000.00 and 1,000.00 respectively plus winning trophies. Five consolations prizes comprising RM200.00 cash and hampers went to UTM Skudai (2 teams), UiTM Shah Alam, Reading University and University Malaya each 1 team respectively.
